Mosque imam dies of wounds from IED attack in Anbar

ANBAR / IraqiNews.com: Friday’s earlier improvised explosive device attack that targeted the imam and preacher of al-Kilani mosque, in the northern Falluja district of al-Saqlawiya, has left Sheikh Jamal al-Muhammadi killed and two of his escorts wounded, a local police source said. “Kilani mosque imam and preacher Muhammadi was killed and two escorts wounded when an IED attack targeted their vehicle as they stepped out of the mosque right after the Friday congregational prayers,” the source told IraqiNews.com news agency. Falluja, the largest city in the predominantly Sunni province of al-Anbar, lies 45 km west of the Iraqi capital Baghdad. Earlier, a source from the Falluja police said Sheikh Muhammad and two of his escorts were wounded in an IED blast near his vehicle. AmR (P) 1
