Gulf States to form joint naval force, says Kuwaiti defense

Kuwaiti (IraqiNews.com) On Wednesday the Kuwaiti defense official Maj-Gen. Ahmad Yussef Al Mulla stated that the Gulf States plan to launch a joint naval force within the joint army in order to protect the shared waters with Iran.

Mulla said “The size of the naval force will depend on the level of threat in the Gulf region.”

Noteworthy, the Gulf Cooperation Council states consisting of Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the UAE have formed the joint army since 1982.
