Russia denies holding talks with countries to erect naval bases
(IraqiNews.com) The Russian Defense Ministry denied, on Friday, the news about conducting talks with some other countries to erect bases for the Russian navy.
Sources quoted source in the Ministry as saying “This issue has not been debated during the press conference, of Viktor Chirkov, the Commander of the Russian Navy,” assuring that “The Commander in Chief of the Navy did not state any official remarks in this regard.”
Earlier, certain media outlet has quoted Chirkov as saying “Russia holds currently talks with Cuba, Seychelles Islands and Vietnam about the possibility of establishing bases for the Russian warships in these countries.
