Washington calls Bahrain to respect freedom of expression, gathering
(IraqiNews.com) Washington invited Bahrain’s Government to respect the freedom of expression and gathering, expressing concerns towards a judgment of Bahraini court against the Bahraini citizen, Nabil Rajab, who was sentenced to 3 years in prison under charge of running illegal gatherings.
7th Day Journal quoted, on Saturday, the US Department of State’s Spokeswoman, Victoria Nuland, who announced in a press conference “Washington calls upon the Government of Bahrain to re-consider this verdict.”
“WE urge Bahrain Government to consider all the alternatives provided to settle this issue; also we believe that all people have essential right in participating in peaceful protest gatherings,” Nuland added.
