Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) Prime Minister Dr. Haider al-Abadi met at his office, on Sunday, the representative of Human Rights Watch in Iraq Ms. Irene Evers.A statement by his office received by Iraqi News cited “At the beginning of the meeting, Ms. Evers expressed congratulations to Dr. Al Abadi, on the occasion of the formation of the new government.””The meeting included a review of human rights situation in Iraq and the government’s plans and programs in this field. Prime Minister Dr. Al Abadi said that since the appointment of the Iraqi government last week, it has taken a series of decisions and is so keen to prevent any violation of human rights of any Iraqi citizen,” the statement added.”Prime Minister Dr. Al Abadi pointed out that he has given orders to the security forces, which is locked in a fierce war with the ISIS terrorist organization, regarding the need to protect the civilians,” the statement continued.”For her part, Ms. Evers expressed her pleasure for the level of cooperation by the government and the attention given to the issues of human rights, expressing her desire to work together with the Iraqi government to maintain the Iraqi human rights,” the statement concluded. /End/
