Provincial Councils election results – SLC 96 seats, Citizen 60 seats
Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The final results of the provincial councils elections showed that “The State of Law Coalition came in the first place in terms of seats number followed by the Citizen Coalition.
According to the results announced by the Independent High Electoral Commission IHEC, the State of Law Coalition, which is chaired by the Premier Nouri al-Maliki, obtained 96 seats in 12 Iraqi provinces, followed by the Citizen Coalition, which belongs to the Supreme Iraqi Islamic Council chaired by Ammar al-Hakim, got 60 seats then the Ahrar Coalition, within the Sadr Trend chaired by Muqtada al-Sadr, with 44 seats.
The United National Iraqiya Coalition, which is chaired by Ayad Allawi the head of the Iraqiya Slate, won 15 seats and the Motahedoun Slate, which is chaired by the Parliament Speaker Osama al-Nijaifi, won 14 seats while the Arab Iraqiya Slate, which is chaired by Deputy Prime Minister Salih al-Mutlaq, came in the last place with five seats.
