Al-Hashemi visits Syria

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: Iraqi Vice President Tareq al-Hashemi visited Syria after wrapping up his visit to Lebanon, where he met with Parliament’s Speaker Nabih Berri and Leader of the parliamentary majority Saad al-Hariri, an official source said on Wednesday. “Al-Hashemi left Lebanon on Tuesday night for Damascus after meeting senior Lebanese officials,” the source told IraqiNews.com. Syrian Vice President Farouk al-Sharaa and his deputy Mohamed Nassief received al-Hashemi at the Damascus International Airport. Al-Hashemi had arrived in Beirut last Monday coming from Ankara.
