URGENT: New government to be announced this week says Speaker of Parliament

Babil (IraqiNews.com) The Speaker of Iraq’s Parliament, Salim al-Jabouri, stated on Sunday, that the formation of the new government will be presented during this week, confirming that all issues related to forming the next government have now been resolved and added that, the Parliament will host the authorized finance minister Safa al-Din al-Safi in the next week to discuss the budget and financial dues to the provinces for the remaining months.

In a press conference, attended by IraqiNews.com, al-Jabouri issued a statement that “The formation of the new government will be announced this week and there are no longer issues related to the formation of the next government between the political blocs.” He also underlined that “The government formation will represent Iraq and not any particular group.”

Earlier in the day, al-Jabouri heads an authorized delegation was arrived to Babil to attend a press conference, noting updates related to the government formation and urging to increase cooperation between the political blocs for the future of Iraq.

It is worth considering that, the president of Babylon province Raed al-Jabouri, on Wednesday (Aug 27), during a private meeting with Salim al-Jabouri, discussed transferring the powers of the government within a number of decentralized administrative bodies across the regions of Iraq as well as the activation of Babil’s project as the historical capital of Iraq.
