Al-Mahdi Army’s demonstration “natural – won’t harm the State,” says al-Iraqiya MP

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: The Legislature of al-Iraqiya Coalition, Zuheir al-Aaraji, has said on Thursday that the demonstration by al-Mahdi Trend has been something “natural, and won’t harm the Iraqi State ,” because its main motive had been the condemnation of any attempt to extend the presence of the Americans in Iraq .   “Several political blocs have many organizations linked through party connection, and al-Mahdi Army is an ideological army, who has the right to launch such demonstration,” Aaraji told IraqiNews.com news agency, considering that “such thing won’t harm the State, and I see it a very natural thing, especially that it got the official approval from the authorities to launch its demonstration.”   The Sadrist demonstration began at 08:00 am on Thursday morning, with the participation of tens of thousands of demonstrators from east Baghdad ’s al-Sadr city, amid strict security measures.   SKH (ST) 529
