Al-Maliki to head for Damascus Wednesday to meet al-Assad

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki will head for Damascus on Wednesday to meet with President Bashar al-Assad, according to a statement of al-Maliki’s office. “The visit comes as part of a multi-leg tour that will take him to a number of neighboring and friendly countries,” said the statement received by IraqiNews.com news agency. “The premier will meet with President Bashar al-Assad and Prime Minister Mohammad Naji Al-Utri,” the statement added. “Talks will focus on ways to develop bilateral relations in political, economic and commercial domains,” it said.
