America called Kurdish parties to extend the mandate of Barzani, says MP
(IraqiNews.com) Arbil – The Armenian MP in Kurdistan parliament Yervant Nisan announced on Wednesday, that the United States called on the Kurdish parties to the need to extend the mandate of Massoud Barzani for another two years, attributing the reasons to the circumstances in the region and the war against ISIS.
Nisan said in a press statement, “Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Iraq, Brett Mcgurk, who attended Kurdish parties meeting yesterday, stressed the need for the survival of regional president Massoud Barzani in office for two years on the verge,” attributing the causes to the “circumstances in the region and the war against ISIS.”
He added, “Mcgurk pointed out that the Kurds and America are fighting terrorism in one front.”
