Anbar council holds emergency meeting after Ramadi protest
ANBAR / IraqiNews.com: The Anbar local council held on Sunday an emergency meeting after the demonstration staged by the local residents in Ramadi, who demanded the sack of governor and the chairman of the council and improving services, according to deputy chairman of the council. “The angry people demand improving services and suspending random arrests, in addition to sacking the province’s governor and chairman of the local council, who are described as an illegal person,” Saadon Ubeid told IraqiNews.com news agency. “The council held an emergency meeting after the protest,” he added, ruling out the repetition of such protests as the officials will work on solving all their problems. Hundreds of local residents in Ramadi staged a protest at the center of the city, calling for improving services, fighting unemployment and corruption.
