Asadi reveals to IraqiNews.com reasons behind Sader Trend’s objection to investigate Maliki
Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Secretary General of the Sadr Trend, Dhia al-Asadi, reveled to IraqiNews.com the reasons behind the objection of the Sadr Trend to investigate the Prime Minister, Nouri al-Maliki.
Speaking to Iraqi News (IraqiNews.com), he stated “The Sadr Trend refrained from supporting investigating Maliki in the parliament because the the Sadr Trend’s leader, Muqtada al-Sadr, has assured that the participation in this process depends on the request of the President, Jalal Talabani, and since Talabani did not request to investigate Maliki, we will not be a part of this issue.”
“Sadr assured more than once that if the political blocs gathered 124 MPs’ signatures, we will support them to withdraw confidence from Maliki,” he added, noting that “We will support the political blocs because 124 signatures show that there is a big desire to change Maliki and that the government is unable to do its duties.”
The head of the Sadr Trend, Muqtada al-Sadr, revealed that he promised the political blocs if they managed to gather 124 MPs supporting withdrawing confidence from the Premier, Nouri al-Maliki, he will complete them to become 164 MPs.
