Assyrians in Ninewa name candidate

NINEWA / IraqiNews.com: The Assyrian Democratic Movement (ADM) in Ninewa province on Sunday named its candidate for the provincial council elections, expected to take place early next year. “We named Samy Habib Estipho for the Ninewa provincial council elections,” Jamal Danha, the official in charge of the ADM branch in Ninewa, told IraqiNews.com. “The ADM named only one candidate because the Christians have only one seat,” Danha said, adding the ADM is entering the elections under name of al-Rafidain List. Christians enter the local elections in Ninewa with three lists: al-Rafidain, Ishtar and the Chaldean Democratic Union Party. Led by Yonadem Kenna, the ADM was founded in 1979. AmR (P) 3
