Biden in Arbil to meet Barzani

ARBIL / IraqiNews.com: U.S. Vice President Joe Biden arrived late Thursday in Arbil to meet President of Kurdistan region, Massoud Barzani, according to a media source. “Biden arrived in Arbil coming from Baghdad and was received at the Arbil International Airport by Head of Kurdistan region presidency divan, Fouad Hussein,” the source told IraqiNews.com news agency. “The U.S. official held a meeting upon his arrival with President Barzani,” he added. Biden had arrived in Baghdad Wednesday night after a visit to Pakistan on an unannounced visit to the country for talks with the country’s leaders. The U.S. embassy in Baghdad had announced the arrival of Biden to hold meetings with President Jalal Talabani, Parliament’s speaker Osama al-Nujiefi, Head of the al-Iraqiya List Iyad Allawi and senior political figures in Iraq.
