Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Minister of State for Provinces Affairs announced that he assumed the post of the Acting Minister of Telecommunications after approving the resignation of the Minister of Telecommunication, Mohamed Allawi, by the Premier, Nouri al-Maliki.
He stated to Iraqi News (IraqiNews.com) “I was tasked to assume this post after approving Allawi’s resignation by Maliki,” noting that “We will deal with the defects which accompany the performance of the Ministry till the nomination of the new Minister of Telecommunication.”
“I have received the official document from the Premier office over this task on Monday,” he added.
“Such procedure is a normal by the cabinet to avoid keeping the Ministry without Minister,” he concluded.
Earlier, the Iraqi National Accord Movement headed by, Ayad Allawi, attributed “The resignation of the Telecommunication Minister, Mohamed Allawi, who is a member in the INAM, to the marginalization of his role in the Ministry.”
“Marginalization of Allawi’s role and neglecting his decisions were behind his resignation which comes to avoid the responsibility of the wrong decisions which are issued by other sides within the Ministry,” he concluded.
The Ministry of Telecommunications denied “The reports over submitting Allawi’s resignation to the Premier, Nouri al-Maliki.”
The spokesman of the Ministry, Sameer Ali al-Hasoun, called “The media outlets to be careful and to seek accuracy while posting their reports,” confirming that “Allawi still preserves his post to continue in his performance to serve Iraq.”
Some media outlets indicated that Allawi submitted his resignation to Maliki earlier.
