(IraqiNews.com) Baghdad – The Canadian Defense Minister Harjit Sajjan said, that the international coalition should stop its air strikes against ISIS and start to rely on ground operations to eliminate the presence of the ISIS organization.

Sajjan said in a statement followed by IraqiNews.com, “A ground campaign – not airstrikes – should be regarded as the priority right now,” asserting that, “It has to be the Iraqi boots on the ground … if you don’t have the boots on the ground, you cannot win.”

Sajjan added, “Canada is set to withdraw its fighter jets from the aerial campaign in Iraq and Syria later in the year,” pointing out that, “Aerial campaign alone is not the ‘responsible’ thing to do solution in the existing conditions.”
