Central Government responsible for non-implemention of projects – al-Musawi
BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: Wassit‘s Provincial Council Deputy Chairman placed the responsibility for not implementing the investment projects in the province on the central government . “The central government obstructs the implementation of investment projects in the province,” Mehdi al-Musawi told IraqiNews.com. “The province signed about ten agreements and Memoranda of Understanding with foreign investment companies, including French, Swiss, Turkish and Indian corporations. The central government however, intentionally obstructed the implementation of these accords,” he added. He continued to say that “many Arab and foreign investment companies pointed out their desire to invest in power generation stations, but the ministry of electricity obstructed these ideas, including the Ministry of Finance,” he noted. Musawi disclosed that during the meetings with the central government and parliament, the Council demanded more powers in order to develop the services sector, as well as the electricity problem in the province.
