Chalabi meets Egyptian Ambassador

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Head of the Iraqi National Congress, Ahmed al-Chalabi hosted at his residence in Baghdad the Egyptian Ambassador to Baghdad, Sharif Shaheen, and both discussed the bilateral relations between the two countries and means to develop them.

The Media Office of the Head of the Iraqi National Congress reported in statement to IraqiNews.com on Thursday that “Al-Chalabi presented his congratulations to the Egyptian people on the occasion of the success of the first presidential elections held in Egypt since the fall of the regime of Hosni Mubarak due to People’s revolution on the 25 of last January.”

The statement added that “The meeting included discussing the Iraqi-Egyptian relations and the means to develop it in service of the two peoples.”

According to the statement “The Egyptian Ambassador confirmed that Egypt is seeking more cooperation with Iraq to revive the historic cultural relations between the two countries,” stressing “The readiness of the Egyptian companies to work and invest in Iraq.” \
