Corruption cases referred to integrity commission- ministry
BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: The Iraqi Ministry of Oil has referred administrative corruption cases to the parliamentary integrity commission, a ministry spokesperson said on Saturday. “Some of the cases are related to administrative corruption, as well as smuggling operations that took place in the past years,” Aasem Jihad told IraqiNews.com news agency. The rapporteur of the parliamentary oil committee, Jabir Khalifa, had submitted to the Parliament’s presidency a request signed by 140 parliamentarians to question the oil minister. However, the council’s presidency said that some of the signatories had gone back on their decision, prompting the committee to recollect signatures for the questioning. SS (P) 1
