Criminal Court hears witnesses in religious parties’ case

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: The Iraqi Supreme Criminal Court on Tuesday heard a witness who testified that security forces under Saddam Hussein removed a female child’s eye before her father. “They wanted her father to confess,” the witness told the court. He said that Saddam’s security forces used to practice different sorts of torture on political detainees. Another witness, a woman, told the court about the torture that she experienced when she was in the former regime’s prisons. MH (P)/SR 1
