Delegation of Anbar’s Tribal Chieftains to partake Mosul demonstration
ANBAR / IraqiNews.com: A delegation, representing the chieftains and leading personalities of west Iraq’s Falluja city, has headed for north Iraq’s Mosul city to partake in the sit-in demonstration, an Anbar tribal chieftain said on Monday. “A delegation, comprised of 76 tribal chieftains and leading personalities and religious men, has headed today (Monday) from Falluja to Mosul, to share in the peaceful sit-in demonstration in Mosul,” Mujbil al-Assafy told IraqiNews.com news agency. He said that the forthcoming few days “shall witness the departure of another delegation, representing the chieftains and leaders of Ramadi tribes, to share in the sit-in demonstration, in solidarity with the citizens of Mosul. “The demands of all the people of Iraq are united, and our heading towards Mosul is due to the fact that launching such demonstrations in Mosul is easier than Anbar,” Assafi said. “The people of Anbar shall support the people of Mosul, to unite ranks and force government officials to respond for our demands, according to the constitution,” he added. Hundreds of people are gathering in central Mosul’s Ahrar (Liberals) square, to share in the sit-in demonstration, demanding non-extension of the presence of the U.S. forces in Iraq and the release of all detainees in Ninewa Province. Ramadi, the center of Anbar Province, is 160 km to the west of Baghdad. SKH (TR)/SR 681
