Deputy PM admits corruption in Iraq

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: The Iraqi government has been able to resolve most of its debt issues with many countries, the Iraqi Deputy Premier Barham Salih said on Tuesday, admitting to the presence of financial corruption in the country. “The Iraqi government seeks to eliminate corruption,” Salih said during the meeting of The International Compact with Iraq (ICI) that was held in Baghdad. “It is good that we admit to this corruption, but methods to eliminate it should not be politicized,” he added.
