Deputy premier, U.S. diplomat discuss Iraqi investment opportunities conf.

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: Iraq’s Deputy Prime Minister Rafeaa al-Eissawi discussed on Wednesday with a U.S. diplomat responsible for the economic file at the U.S. embassy the Iraqi investment opportunities conference which ill be held in Washington by the end of 2009. “The meeting tackled the latest preparations made to hold the conference in Washington by the end of the year,” said a statement of his office received by Iraqi News. Meanwhile, al-Eissawi also met with chairman of the BP oil company in Iraq. “The meeting discussed also the company’s programs to develop al-Rumila oil field,” the statement said. “The official also urged the U.S. diplomat to speed up implementing plans aim to rehabilitate the oilfield, to increase the country’s production and to help fighting the administrative corruption,” the statement added.
