Diwaniya accuses Minister of Agriculture of sectarianism
Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Provincial Council of Diwaniya accused the Minister of Agriculture Izz-il-Din al-Dawla of the Iraqiya Slate from Nineveh province of depriving Diwaniya from the financial support granted by the Agricultural Initiative, describing the minister of being “sectarian.”
The chairman of Agriculture Committee within Diwaniya PC, Ali Man’e stated to Iraqi News (IraqiNews.com) “Diwaniya received IQD 55 billion from the dues of the agricultural initiative, while other provinces, especially Nineveh province, received IQD 316 billions, although Diwaniya is an agricultural province in comparison to other provinces.”
“The officials who run the Agricultural Fund ask about the identity and the sect of the investor and those who come from central or southern provinces are deprived from the grants while those investors who come from the western provinces will be granted the funds immediately,” Man’e added.
Man’e mentioned that “The Minister of Agriculture took a negative stance towards Diwaniya which refused to hand over the crops of wheat and Barley to the Ministry of Agriculture to be transferred to Mosul,” noting that “Al-Dawla refuses to cooperate with Diwaniya due to this case as well as other sectarian issues.”
“Minister al-Dawla did not visit Diwaniya which is known as an agricultural province, yet he visited all other provinces,” according to Man’e.
