Diwaniyah nominates Awadi as its Governor

Diwaniyah (IraqiNews.com) A number of the political blocs of Diwaniyah province announced forming Diwaniyah First alliance to form the local government.

An informed source stated to Iraqi News (IraqiNews.com) “The new alliance comprises the Citizen bloc with five seats, Ahrar bloc with four seats and Diwaniyah Masses Coalition with four blocs in addition to Dawa party with two seats.”

“The new alliance will be 15 seats and will form a majority to from the local government,” the source added, noting that “The Governor post to be granted to the head of the Diwaniyah Masses Coalition, Ihsan al-Awadi, and the chairmanship of the Provincial Council will be for the Citizen bloc where al-Ahrar bloc will be granted the post of the First Deputy Governor and the second Deputy Governor will be left for the State of Law Coalition in case it joins the new alliance.”
