DTP leader in Sulaimaniya today

SULAIMANIYA / IraqiNews.com: The chairman of the Kurdish Democratic Society Party (DTP), Ahmet Turk, will arrive today in Sulaimaniya City to meet with the secretary general of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK), Jalal al-Talabani, and a host of officials. “Turk will be accompanied by the head of the PUK bureau in Ankara, Bahruz Galali,” a media source from the PUK told Iraqi News. Turk is expected to meet with Talabani to discuss the development in relations between the two parties as well as other political issues. In December 2009, a delegation from the DTP visited the Kurdistan region, where it met the Kurdish president and the leader of the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP), Massoud al-Barazani, as well as President Talabani. Observers regard the DTP as the political wing of the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK), whose leader Abdullah Ocalan is currently serving a life sentence in Turkey. SS (P) 1
