Egypt slams Baghdad attack

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: Egypt on Monday condemned the attack against a Catholic church in Iraq and “categorically rejects” its name being connected with these “criminal acts”, according to a statement by the Egyptian Foreign Ministry. Cairo’s Foreign Minister expressed his condolences to the families of the hostages killed in the attack, which he defined as criminal and barbaric, and said that his thoughts were with the families involved. Responsibility for the attack on the Baghdad church – which latest reports say has left more than fifty people dead – including two priests – and around seventy-five people injured – has been claimed by the Islamic State of Iraq (ISI) armed group.
