Egypt’s revolution changed courses of Arab, Muslim region – VP
BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: Iraqi Vice President Adel Abdulmahdi termed the Egyptian people’s revolution that triumphed on Friday (Feb. 11), as “one of the most outstanding and effective revolutions to change the course of the Arab and Muslim region”. “We offer congratulations for the great Egyptian people over their revolution that is going to be recorded in the annals of history as one of the most outstanding. The revolution was marked by its civilized, peaceful, creative and youthful style as well as its steadfastness to attain its objectives,” Abdulmahdi said in a statement issued by his office as received by IraqiNews.com news agency. “This revolution is going to make changes, without which there would be no future for the region,” he added. Abdulmahdi noted that nations and peoples will no longer accept anything but democracy, freedom and fair institution. Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak has stepped down and handed power to the Military Council in Egypt after 18 days of mass protests in nearly all Egyptian governorates, where hundreds of thousands of Egyptians participated to unseat the regime after 30 years in office.
