Government confiscates our paper – AMS

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: The Association of Muslim Scholars (AMS), which is a group of Sunni clerics, said on Saturday that governmental forces confiscated its mouthpiece newspaper, al-Basaer , from the Iraqi market. “The forces threatened to arrest those who sell, buy, or carry the newspaper,” the AMS said in a release received by IraqiNews.com news agency. It said that an act like this one is a clear violation of the freedom of the press that has been repeatedly occurring under “the four occupation governments” in Iraq since 2003. The Baghdad Operations Command (BOC) did not comment on this issue. MH (P)/SR 1
