Greek Foreign Ministry supports Iraqi institutions

Iraq-Greece BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: Greece deiced on Tuesday to allocate 19 million euro to reconstruct Iraq and support its scientific institutions, according to a statement of the Iraq’s foreign ministry. “Foreign Minister Hoshyar Zebari met on Tuesday (Jan. 27) in Athens with his Greek counterpart Dora Koiani and discussed the latest political developments in Iraq,” said the statement received by IraqiNews.com news agency. “Koiani pointed out the allocation of 16 million Euro to support and rehabilitate the scientific institutions in Iraq and three million Euro to reconstruct the country,” it added. “He asserted the opening of a Greek commercial office in Arbil soon and the importance of activating the joint economic and commercial committee,” it noted. “Zebari expressed appreciation to the Greece’s contribution in supporting Iraq.” The Iraqi delegation included Mr. Labeed Abbawi, Undersecretary for Political planning and Bilateral Relations, Ambassador Surod Rashid Najib Director of the Ministers Office, Ambassador Haider Barrak, Head of the Press Department, Ambassador Farid Yassin and several officials from the foreign ministry.
