Hakeem in KSA today
BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: Sayyid Ammar al-Hakeem, head of the Supreme Islamic Iraqi Council (SIIC), will arrive in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) on Tuesday following an official invitation. “The visit aims at strengthening Iraq–KSA relations,” a source from the SIIC told IraqiNews.com news agency. He pointed out that an invitation in this regard has been made by the Saudi foreign minister, and that al-Hakeem will meet King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud of Saudi Arabia. Earlier, Ali al-Adeeb, a leading figure of the Dawlat al-Qanoon, said that any Iraqi official who visits the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) should present the vision of the public in Iraq. “Discussions between Iraqi and Saudi officials regarding the issue of forming the new Iraqi government are rejected,” al-Adeeb told IraqiNews.com news agency. He noted that Iraq is an independent state and has sovereignty. “Pressures on Iraqi officials to make certain decisions cannot be accepted,” al-Adeeb stressed. MH (P)/SR 2
