Hakim calls for plan to ensure delivering cash money that replaces Ration Card to poor people

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The head of the Supreme Iraqi Islamic Council, Ammar al-Hakim, expressed his concerns about the possibility of stealing the cash money that will replace the Ration Card.

In a statement by the SIIC, Hakim confirmed “The Government has to ensure delivering the cash money safely to the poor people,” noting that “If the Ration Card foostuffs delivery is accompanied by corruption then how it would be the case with the cash money.”

“There must be a plan by the government to ensure delivering the cash money safely to the poor people to be able to buy their foodstuffs from the markets,” he added.

“The government must answer questions like do the poor people get what they need through the 15 IQD that they will receive as a replacement for the Ration Card, do we have an economic system able to provide these materials and how much the prices of these stuffs in the markets,” he stressed.

“The government should also prove its ability to deliver such money to the rural areas,” he concluded.
