Hakim, German Ambassador to Iraq discuss bilateral relations, regional situation

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The head of the Supreme Iraqi Islamic Council, Ammar al-Hakim, discussed on Monday with the German Ambassador to Iraq, Britta Faguynar, the bilateral relations and the regional events.

A statement by the SIIC mentioned “Hakim received at his office in Baghdad, the German Ambassador to Iraq, where they discussed the Iraqi-German bilateral relations and prospects of developing the common cooperation between both countries.”

“Both sides reviewed the regional and international current situations,” according to the statement.

“For her part, the Ambassador of Germany delivered the German government’s greetings to Hakim, expressing her country and the European Union’s appreciation to the pivotal role played by Hakim and his concerted efforts to resolve the political crisis in Iraq,” the statement concluded.
