Hakim receives Australian Ambassador in Baghdad

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Head of the Supreme Iraqi Islamic Council, Ammar al-Hakim, received the Australian Ambassador in Baghdad and stressed the necessity of making use of the Australian experiences in Agricultural, industrial and educational fields.

A statement by the SIIC received by Iraqi News (IraqiNews.com) cited “Hakim received the Australian Ambassador at his office in Baghdad on Tuesday,” noting that “Hakim appreciated the initiative of the Australian government in granting 1200 scholarships for the Iraqi students.”

“Hakim emphasized the significance of activating the mutual cooperation between the two counties,” the statement mentioned.

“The Ambassador confirmed the Australian government support for Iraqis in their democratic process, indicating Iraq’s major steps like hosting the Arab Summit and 5+1 meeting over the Iranian nuclear file,” the statement concluded.
