Human rights reports warns of crisis – MRFC
U BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: The Monitor of Constitutional Freedom and Bill of Rights (MRFC) on Wednesday said that the dangerous violations against detainee’s rights have continued, and that human rights reports warn of a “crisis” that may reach thousands in Iraqi prisons, demanding the Iraqi parliament to react. “There are around 19,708 prisoners, and the Parliament is demanded to activate its surveillance role over the government’s performance in this regard,” the MRFC said in a report received by IraqiNews.com news agency. “The Parliament should form a human rights commission to limit violations of state-run security and judicial institutions,” it added. The MRFC is a human rights non-profit organization, interested in monitoring human rights violations and defending human rights in Iraq. MH (P)/SR 1
