Integrity commission demands to lift immunity of MPs accused with corruption cases
Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Integrity Commission revealed investigating with its former director, Rahim Akeley on corruption charges and demanded the Parliament to lift the immunity of MPs accused with corruption cases.The Head of Integrity Commission, Judge Alaa Jawad Hamid, reported in press conference attended by the correspondent of IraqiNews.com ”We demand the Government to expedite ratifying the law projects that help the Commission to activate its responsibility and fulfill its commitments towards the UN Convention, which Iraq endorsed in 2007.”Jawad emphasized ”The necessity to ratify the main amendments that are suggested on Integrity Commission Law items no. 30 of 2011 related to the high importance issues such as revealing financial disclosure of senior officials and legislate laws to preserve public funds.” \END\
