Integrity starts investigations over corruption accompanying armament deal with Russia

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Iraqi Integrity Commission announced starting the investigations process over the armament deal concluded earlier with Russia.

Member of the parliamentary Integrity Committee, Haval Kwistani, told Iraqi News “During receiving the head of the Entergy Commission, Alaa al-Saadi with a number of officials within the Commission, he informed us about starting the investigations over the corruption accompanying the armament deal with Russia.”

Kwistani added “Saadi informed us that a request was forwarded to the office of the General Commander of the Armed Forces, Nouri al-Maliki, to provide the Commission with copies of the deal’s bonds.”

The Iraqi Government concluded in October, 2012 a number of armament deals with Russia and Czech during the visit of the Premier Nouri al-Malki to both of these countries.
