Interpol: prisons break-ins in Iraq threatens world security

(IraqiNews.com) The Interpol issued an international warning over the hundreds of escapees from Taji and Abu Ghraib prisons in Iraq.

Gunmen had attacked on last Sunday the Taji and Abu Ghraib prisons using IEDs, mortars and machine guns in an attempt to free the prisoners.

A statement by the Interpol issued on last Wednesday reported that “Storming the two prisons in Iraq represents major threat to the world security as many of the escapees are top leaders to the Qaeda and some of them are sentenced to death.”

The Interpol pointed out “We issued warming to the region countries under Iraq’s request while the Iraqi authorities are collecting photos and fingerprints of the escapees, so as to issue an international warning to seek assistance from those countries to pursue the escapees.”
