Iraq informs permanent members of UNSC its agreement to host 5+1 meeting over Iran
Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) Iraq informed the five permanent Security Council members plus Germany and the European Union about its agreement to host the international meeting of the UN Security Council five permanent members plus Germany, over the Iranian nuclear file which will be held on 14, April, 2012, in Baghdad.
A statement by The Ministry of Foreign Affaires received by Iraqi News (IraqiNews.com) cited “The Deputy FM, Mohamed al-Dorki, delivered the messages of Iraq over its agreement to the diplomatic representatives of the fives permanent members while meeting them in Iraq.”
“Dorki assured that Iraq prepared all the requirements for the meeting,” the statement added.
Earlier, the Foreign Minister Hoshyar Zebari met the high-level delegation of the National Security Council of the Islamic Republic of Iran headed by Mr. Ali Bagheri Deputy of the Political and International Affairs, with the presence of Hassan Dnaie far, the Iranian Ambassador accredited in Baghdad and Reza Amiri, Director General of the Council for Arab countries.
The Iranian delegation declared his country’s desire for Iraq to host the international meeting of the UN Security Council five permanent members plus Germany, known as the “five plus one” group over the Iranian nuclear file.
Zebari welcomed the proposal and expressed Iraq’s willingness to host the meeting and stressed that he will carry out the necessary contacts with the relevant parties on the proposal.
