(IraqiNews.com) Baghdad – The Iraqi National Accord party confirmed on Saturday its refusal to divide Iraq, arguing that the voices talking about the division of Iraq to confederations on doctrinal and sectarian lines are aberrant, while warned that these projects will enter Iraq in a “long conflict,” calling the political forces to declare its position on this project.

The party said in a statement followed by IraqiNews.com, “We briefed some aberrant voices that talk about dividing Iraq into three or four confederations built on the foundations of sectarianism as a proposal to jump on the will of the people,” stressing “The rejection of all plans that emerge outside the path of the political process.”

The statement added, “This proposal is divisive, whether true or not true, the reality proved that the safety of the Iraqis is in their unity, while the promises of a better future outside Iraq’s unity are nothing but ways to more strife and ruin and corruption,” calling all political forces to “declare its position on this project.”
