Iraqi National Alliance seats: Sadrists 39, SIIC 20, Fadila 7, two for Jaafari, Jalabi

BAGHDAD /Iraqi News A source from the Iraqi National Alliance (INA) on Sunday said that its 70 seats will be allocated as follows: 39 for the Sadrist movement, 20 for the Supreme Islamic Iraqi Council (SIIC) and Badr Organization, seven for the Fadila Party, one seat for Ibrahim al-Jaafari’s Reform Movement and one seat for Ahmed al-Jalabi’s National Congress. Al-Daawa Party- Iraq Organization, led by Abdulkareem al-Anzi, has not gained any seats, according to the source. The Independent High Electoral Commission (IHEC) has recently announced the names of the winners in the legislative elections. The results were announced on Friday (March 26) with former prime minister Iyad Allawi’s al-Iraqiya bloc obtaining 91 out of the parliament’s 325 seats, followed by incumbent Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki’s Dawlat al-Qanoon (State of Law) with 89 seats, the Iraqi National Alliance (INA) with 70 seats and the Kurdistan Alliance with 43 seats.
