Iraqi president expresses support to AL’s mission in Iraq

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: Iraqi President Jalal Talabani expressed his full support to the Arab League’s mission in Iraq and to facilitate its work in the country, according to a presidential statement released on Thursday. “President Jalal Talabani received on Thursday Ambassador Hani Khalaf, the head of the Arab League’s mission in Iraq ,” said the statement received by IraqiNews.com. “The president expressed his support to facilitate Khalaf’s mission in Iraq and enable him to undertake his duty in boosting Iraq ’s contact with Arab region,” the statement added. The ambassador conveyed a message from Arab League Secretary General Amr Moussa to the president on sending mission to Iraq to activate the AL ’s role in the country, the statement also said. “Moussa stressed in his message on Al’s keenness to activate its role in Iraq and its direct contact with Iraqi government and constitutional institutions,” the statement highlighted.
