Iraq’s Vice-President calls on Iran’s Ambassador to demand his government to stop bombarding Iraqi territories
BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: Iraq ’s Vice-President, Tareq al-Hashimy, has called on Iran ’s Ambassador to Baghdad , Hassan Danai, to demand his government to stop the unjustified bombardment of Iraqi territories, according to a statement by Hashimy’s office on Saturday. “Iran has to stop its unjustified bombardment of Iraqi territories,” the statement quoted Hashimy as having told Danai in a meeting with him on Saturday, warning that the bombardment, that forced hundreds of inhabitants of the Kurdistan border villages to desert their home villages, shall harm bilateral relations between both countries. Hashimy said that Iraq’s foreign policy “does not allow using Iraqi territories to undermine the security and stability of neighboring states, being a constant position by Iraq, but it won’t allow neighboring states to do the same thing.” The Iraqi Vice-President, meanwhile, “has called on Iran to allow the Wand River and other rivers, stemming from Iran , to flow into Iraq ,” calling for the signing of a joint agreement to share the border rivers waters, in order to satisfy a suitable share for Iraq . Noteworthy is that several Iraqi border villages and areas on Iraq’s Kurdistan Region, especially those situated in Choman, Haj Omran and Soran areas, are suffering from Iranian bombardment, under justification to chase the anti-Tehran PJAK forces, thing that had caused the killing of at least 3 citizens and the desertion of hundreds of families of their home villages.
