Jaf criticizes attempts to awakening legislative, observatory role of parliament

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) MP, Ashwaq al-Jaf, of the Kurdistani Alliance criticized the attempts to awakening the legislative and observatory role of the parliament.

In a press statement received by IraqiNews.com, she said “The political blocs hinder the performance of the parliament by not allowing it to summon the officials in financial and administrational corruption issues which directly affect the Iraqi people and providing the services for them.”

“The political blocs always show reaction while discussing investigating the officials where they defend them and prevent investigating them,” she added, “noting that “The investigation process does not mean that the investigated official is guilty and the MPs have the right to reveal the truth where the results of the investigation will reveal the truth.”

“Lifting the immunity from the investigated officials is not for political purposes, but it is the observatory role of the parliament to serve the Iraqi people that became victims from the corruption issues,” she concluded.
