Jobouri discusses with European delegation, expediting performance of HR Commission

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The head of the Parliamentary Human Right Committee, Salim al-Jobouri discussed with a European delegation the means of expediting the performance of the Human Rights Commission.

A statement by the Committee received by IraqiNews.com on Sunday, cited “Jobouri met a European delegation comprising representatives from the Swiss and European embassy and the European Union where he discussed the projects submitted by the Committee such as the General Amnesty law draft.”

“Jobouri stated that there are two points that need to be taken into consideration that are the judicial decision over adjusting the woman representation in the HR Commission in one hand and the expedition of the procedures of nominating the head and deputy head of the Commission to start its tasks on the other hand,” the statement added.

“For its part, the European delegation expressed its readiness to support the Committee by holding meetings to discuss the important law,” the statement concluded.
