Jordan, Egypt call for strategic approach to fight terrorism
Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) Jordan and Egypt on Thursday called for a strategic approach and the cooperation of all to combat terrorism, the state-run Petra news agency reported.
At a meeting between King Abdullah II of Jordan and Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi in Amman, the two sides said it is fundamental to fight groups that tarnish the image of Islam.
They also stressed on the need to highlight the true image of Islam as a religion of peace and tolerance.
On Mideast peace, they called for more efforts by the international community to help resume peace talks between the Palestinians and the Israelis.
On Jerusalem, they warned against measures to change the status quo in the holy city. Talks also covered the situation in Syria and Iraq. /End/
