Khuzayi emphasizes freedom of media outlets

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Vice-President, Khudair al-Khuzayi, emphasized “The importance of ensuring the freedom of the media outlets to serve the national interests.”

A statement by Khuzayi’s office received by IraqiNews.com quoted him as saying during his meeting with the head of the Media and Communication Commission, Safa al-Din Rabie, on Tuesday “The media outlets have certain basic standards that must be considered in most of the countries across the world.”

“The constitution protected the media outlets from the interferences of other sides but this does not mean that media performance is without standards,” Khuzayi added.

He called “The media outlets to adhere to neutrality and to be away from the political tensions.”

For his part, Rabei expressed “His gratitude for Khuzayi for his support for the media outlets,” stressing “The Presidency’s role in protecting the constitution.”
