Kurdish MP: Talabani agrees to submit request to withdraw confidence from Maliki

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The member of the Kurdistani Alliance, Sharief Suleiman, revealed that “The President, Jalal Talabani, agreed to submit request for withdrawing confidence from the Premier, Nouri al-Maliki.”

Speaking to Iraqi News (IraqiNews.com), he said “Talabani agreed to submit the request presented by some political blocs for withdrawing confidence from Maliki,” noting that “He did not submit the request to the parliament yet because the political sides that signed the request did not reach agreement over the candidate to succeed Maliki.”

“Many candidates nominated from the Iraqi National Alliance including Adil Abdul Mahdi and Baqir Jabur al-Zubaidi from the Supreme Iraqi Islamic Council, the head of the INA, Ibraheem al-Jaafary, and the head of the Iraqi National Congress, Ahmed al-Chalabi,” he concluded.

Earlier, the spokesperson of the IS, Maysoun al-Damlouji, stated to IraqiNews.com “We managed to get the required signatures to withdraw confidence from Maliki,” noting that “The MPs’ signatures were collected from all the blocs.”

Earlier, the spokesperson of al-Ahrar bloc, Mushriq Naji, expected “The President, Jalal Talabani, will submit the request to withdraw the confidence from the Prime Minister, Nouri al-Maliki, to the Speaker, Osama al-Nijaifi.”
