Kurdistan opposition leaders meet in Sulaimaniya
SULAIMANIYA / IraqiNews.com: Leaders of opposition parties in the Iraqi Kurdistan region are meeting Saturday at the Kurdistan Islamic Union (KIU) headquarters in Sulaimaniya to discuss recent clashes between security forces and protesters in the province. The meeting will be held in the presence of Change Movement leader Noshirwan Mustafa, Kurdistan Islamic Group (KIG) leader Ali Babir and KIU leader Salah al-Din Baha’ al-Din. It will be followed by a press conference in which the opposition parties are going to announce their positions regarding recent incidents in Sulaimaniya. Clashes erupted anew last week in the al-Saray square and other areas in the northern Iraq Kurdish province of Sulaimaniya, leaving dozens of people on either side wounded. AmR (TP)/SR 593
